The Elgin Military Museum is very pleased that the well known and internationally respected journalist, Peter Mansbridge, has agreed to act as the Chairman of the Honourary Board for Project Ojibwa. Already a member of the museum, he is the son of long-time member and museum supporter, former Wing Commander (RAF) the late Stanley Mansbridge, DFC.

Born in London, England in 1948, Peter was seven when his family immigrated to Canada and he grew up in Ottawa, Ontario. Prior to joining the world of broadcasting, he served two years in the Royal Canadian Navy. Today, Mr. Mansbridge is an award winning television news anchor with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, a journalist and a columnist. To date, he has received 12 Gemini Awards, an outstanding affirmation of the respect of his colleagues. On July, 1, 2008, he was appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada by Governor General  Michaëlle Jean. In 2009, Mr. Mansbridge accepted the role of Chancellor of Mount Allison University reflecting his life long interest in learning.
