Lieutenant Colonel Robert S. Chamberlain
Lt. Col. Chamberlain enlisted for active duty in January of 1942 as a Lieutenant after serving in the Reserves. He served in the United Kingdom, the Central Mediterranean and Europe. For his gallantry leading his company in Italy he was award the Military Cross. He was promoted to Major in 1945 in Holland. In 1986, Chamberlain was promoted to a Commander of the Order of St. John for his service to the organization. A staunch supporter of the military he was appointed to a term as Honourary Lieutenant Colonel of the Elgin Regiment. Always active in the community, Lt. Col. Chamberlain was one of the original founding members of this Museum.
