The Submarine
One of our most popular displays is a mock-up of a section of a small "S" class submarine used by the Royal Navy. Designed primarily as a play area for children visiting the Museum, it illustrates the lack of space which beset the crew of a Submarine. Everyone can enjoy a hands on experience sending Morse Code and looking through the periscope. The hands on display offers an opportunity to imagine being a submariner without having to cope with all the difficulties. Life under the ocean waves requires intense teamwork and great dedication to live and work in such a stark environment.
